The CBI has arrested five Mumbai-based fraudsters who allegedly targeted US and Canadian citizens by operating an illegal Amazon technical support centre in Nashik, Maharashtra. The group, consisting of six Mumbai-based fraudsters, allegedly committed financial frauds through impersonation and phishing calls from the call centre. The network involved a structured hierarchy of 60 operators, who were recruited as callers, verifiers, and closers. The CBI found 62 employees working in the live call centre.
