Centre to set up Rs 200 crore training centre for MSMEs in Goa: CM Pramod Sawant

The central government plans to establish a Rs 200 crore training center in Goa to support MSMEs, as announced by Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant during a Niti Aayog event. Goa boasts 400 registered startups, and this initiative aims to boost the state's economic stability, create jobs, foster industrial development, and contribute to India's GDP growth in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of 'Atmanirbhar Bharat.' Goa recently signed an MoU with the Credit Guarantee Fund Trust to strengthen MSMEs and introduced the Goa Credit Guarantee Scheme. Additionally, the state budget allocated funds for schemes like the Prime Minister's formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises and Chief Minister’s Kaushalya Path to skill local youth. Goa currently has a significant number of Udyam-registered MSMEs and DPIIT-recognized startups, reflecting its commitment to fostering entrepreneurship and economic growth.
