China’s new radio frequency rules will block the sale of some wireless chargers from Apple

Regulators in China intend to prohibit the sale of some kinds of wireless chargers, including ones made by Apple. This is due to rising compliance issues associated with imported goods in China. The new regulations seek to ""maintain the order of airwaves"" and ""avoid harmful interference of radio operations,"" such as radio communications in the aviation industry. Apple's 15W wireless charging capability is based on the company-owned MagSafe and Qi2 standards, which operate at 360kHz, a frequency outside the authorized range.
