When it released its fiscal first-quarter earnings, Cisco Systems informed Wall Street analysts that it is offering data center servers with Nvidia for handling artificial intelligence workloads. As a result of the push toward AI servers, Cisco is entering a competitive market with companies like Dell, Hewlett-Packard Enterprise and others. Also Splunk, a software startup, was recently acquired by Cisco for $25 billion in cash.
