Cisco working with Jio, Airtel to build 5G open network: Anand Bhaskar

Cisco Systems is working with India's top two telecom carriers to build industry-first open network and cloud networking technologies and is also helping them digitize their operations and grow revenue through go-to-market partnerships. Cisco is working with Airtel and Apollo to develop a 5G-connected ambulance and with Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel to build a first-of-its-kind 5G-ready network. India's telecom sector is the second largest globally, with 1.17 billion subscribers and digitally integrated enterprises, sectors, and government organizations. The sector has been transformed from a 'service provider' to a 'service enabler'. To support the growing demand for digital services, telcos must move beyond connectivity in 2024 and lead digitization from the front. Moreover, the rollout of 5G will unlock a plethora of new applications and use cases.
