COES and CEHS host robotics competition

Louisiana Tech University hosted teams of high school students from across the state for the kickoff of the FIRST Robotics Competition Launch on January 6, 2024. The event, held from 8-12 at the Integrated Engineering and Science Building on the university's campus, provided an opportunity for students and faculty to engage with, mentor, and recruit the best talent in the region. FIRST is a non-profit organization dedicated to educating young leaders in science and engineering, helping students develop better science, engineering, and logical thinking skills. The event showcased the progress of student members, who were challenged to raise funds, design a team brand, and build and program industrial-size robots to play a difficult field game against like-minded competitors. The event helped connect with high schools and students, showcasing the university's programs and recruiting high-quality students who will make an impact on the university as student leaders.
