Asean's digital adoption presents significant opportunities for the region's economies, but inclusive growth, particularly for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), is crucial, according to Joey Concepcion, Chairman of Asean-Business Advisory Council Philippines. Speaking during the Asean Business Investment Summit, Concepcion emphasized the importance of digital tools for uplifting people's lives, especially in countries where a significant portion of the population lives in poverty. The Asean BAC Philippines advocates for Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) between ASEAN nations, prioritizing sectors like agriculture and MSMEs to benefit even the smallest businesses. Leveraging Asean's rapid digital market growth, Concepcion stressed the need to empower MSMEs, enabling them to use digitalization to compete, access new markets, and offer financial services to underserved communities.
