Swiss robotics company Embodied AI has unveiled AIR, a factory robot designed to learn manufacturing tasks directly from human operators. The system typically reaches independent operation within a month. AIR uses tendon-driven arms that keep motors and electronics inside the torso, making the limbs lightweight and able to yield on contact for safer collaboration. It moves on wheels suited to flat factory floors and is designed under ISO/TS 15066:2016, with CE marking planned for 2027. Operators control the robot from the first shift while demonstrations train the company’s proprietary AI. Skills can transfer between units. In earlier paid deployments of a related industrial cell, Embodied AI reported 98 percent reliability on a cable-handling task against a 90 percent target where competing systems fell short. The robot was presented at Humanoid Europe 2026 on 6 November.
