Fresenius Medical Care launches "Augmented Reality" for training on Kidney Replacement Therapy device

Fresenius Medical Care has launched an Augmented Reality (AR) application to aid nursing staff in Kidney Replacement Therapy in Intensive Care Units. The AR glasses, combined with digital learning modules, enable staff to learn how to use acute dialysis machines on site within the wards. The glasses stream visual and acoustic recordings as users interact with the dialysis machine, providing an immersive learning experience. The AR glasses enable self-guided, on-demand education for critical care professionals, such as setting up the machine, activating the citrate pump, or handling system components. The Ready4 multiFiltratePRO AR training application will be launched in select markets as early as Q2 2024, followed by further countries in Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Asia Pacific regions. A limited launch will take place in the United States later this year, and a full launch with the Ready4 multiFiltratePRO AR learning experience is planned for 2025.
