Future Technologies sells $14m of private 5G to US energy sector in 12 months

US-based system integrator Future Technologies has secured $14 million of orders from the national energy sector in 2023, indicating that the private networks market in Industry 4.0 is more about local knowhow and local corporate reach than global corporate reach. The firm's contracted 2023 revenues in the US energy market are from a combination of private 4G/5G sales, fixed broadband, and cellular-based wide-area network (WAN) solutions. Most category-wins have been in the chemical, oil and gas, and renewable energy sectors. Future Technologies, a close ally of Nokia in the private 4G/5G market, cited Cambium Networks, Semtech / Sierra Wireless, Intel, and Microsoft as key suppliers. Future Technologies leverages private 4G/5G and hybrid enterprise infrastructure to boost operational efficiency in the energy market, partnering with Fortune 100 and 500 industrial firms and numerous companies.
