Generative AI will change the way we develop games

Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) plans to invest $150 million in India's gaming, Esports, and streaming sectors, as well as in generative AI firms. The company has launched an incubator program to nurture six to ten game developers, with the aim of promoting their skills and potential for publication or acquisition. Despite high excitement among Indian gamers, the skills required for esports are not yet up to the mark due to the short history of this category in India. BGMI's core team is based in Seoul, Korea, with an Indian art team to localise themes. The government is now okay with BGMI's actions, and most gamers who left during the ban have returned. BGMI was banned earlier due to communication with servers based in China. The company's return to India is uncertain, but new technologies like 5G and 6G could open up opportunities for game developers and Krafton in India.
