The SDK is built for servers, containers, and DevOps environments. Applications can be packaged on Linux and deployed to Cloud Run, Google Kubernetes Engine, or Compute Engine virtual machines. It also compiles on macOS, so teams can develop backends on a Mac and run them on Linux. Google highlights Swift 6’s compile-time checks for data races and combines the libraries with Swift NIO for non-blocking networking, HTTP/2, and gRPC.
