Researchers from HUMAN's Satori Threat Intelligence Team have dismantled the SlopAds ad-fraud operation, which utilized over 224 apps on the Google Play Store, amassing more than 38 million downloads globally. This campaign generated 2.3 billion fraudulent requests daily, predominantly from the U.S. (30%), India (10%), and Brazil (7%). These apps cleverly hid malicious payloads via encrypted files and PNG images. Although removed, experts warn that attackers may relaunch under a new name.
