Google has filed a lawsuit against a Chinese criminal organization known as "Lighthouse," which allegedly operates a "Phishing-as-a-Service" venture offering scammers access to software kits, including nearly 200 website templates mimicking U.S. entities. Google's general counsel, Halimah DeLaine Prado, stated these illicit sites could compromise between 12.7 and 115 million credit cards in the U.S. alone. The lawsuit aims for deterrence while Google supports bipartisan legislation to aid law enforcement against scammers.
