Google has teamed up with US Department of Energy-backed nuclear startup Kairos Power to use electricity from tiny modular reactors for its artificial intelligence operations. The deal, signed on Monday, enables the building of seven compact modular reactors to generate 500 megawatts of electricity overall. The first reactor is expected to start operations by 2030.
