Google Pay is Being Axed Soon, Here’s What You Need To Do

Google has added another app to its product graveyard. After 10 years, the company is retiring Google Pay in the US, forcing users to switch to the platform's alternative mobile payment service, Google Wallet, by June 4th this year. Google aims to streamline its digital payment options, with Wallet offering broader functionalities and three times the user base. Wallet will continue to support contactless and online payments, rewards, and spending analysis. Differences between the two include Wallet's ability to store digital items and lack of peer-to-peer payments. Users must transfer their Google Pay balance before the deadline by following simple steps within the app. Transfers to bank accounts may take up to five business days with a 1.5% fee for debit card transactions. It's recommended to use a password manager to safeguard payment information.
