Google has begun piloting a personalized fashion and lifestyle shopping section inside the Google Pay app in India. Eligible users who update the app can access it via a Discover icon at the bottom of the screen. The experience draws on Google’s Shopping Graph of more than 60 billion product listings, along with visual search, virtual try-on technology, and YouTube videos. Users can browse a curated feed of apparel and trends tailored to their preferences, virtually try on selected clothing items to see how they look and drape, and soon explore pre-generated daily looks. They can also take a photo or upload an image to find visually similar products across the web. Purchases are completed on the merchant’s website rather than inside Google Pay. The pilot is limited while Google gathers feedback.
