Google has launched Google Pics, a new AI-powered image generation and editing tool built into Google Workspace. The service uses Google’s Nano Banana model and lets users create images from text prompts or refine existing ones with precise controls. Users can select and edit individual objects, change or translate text inside images, crop for different formats, and upscale to 2K or 4K. Integrations with Google Docs and Slides are available now, so images can be edited without leaving those apps. Drive support will follow in the coming weeks. Pics is rolling out to Google AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers as well as most Google Workspace business customers on Business Standard and higher plans. It works both as a standalone tool at pics.new and as an in-app feature. The goal is to simplify visual content creation for posters, social posts, presentations and marketing materials.
