Google, following its Stadia streaming failure, is now testing a new feature that allows playable online games to be incorporated into YouTube, confirming reports that were previously circulating in June. Google's Playables initiative allows users to play online games instantly through YouTube's website or iOS and Android apps. Testing is now live, as confirmed by the YouTube test features and experiments list. Google's initial testing phase will involve a limited number of users, but a Wall Street Journal report in June suggested the experiment will begin with a single title, Stack Bounce, a casual arcade game that involves smashing horizontally stacked bricks with a ball. Whether or not Playable ever manages to progress beyond its current testing phase remains to be seen. Of course, Playable is notorious for abandoning projects, and its previous dalliance with gaming wasn't exactly a successful one.
