Google unveils enterprise AI tools, new AI chip

At the Google Next conference in San Francisco, Google introduced a range of AI technology and collaborations aimed at bringing AI to large businesses. Notable announcements included cloud software partnerships with General Motors and Estee Lauder, the unveiling of new custom AI chips (TPU v5e), an enterprise-scale AI tool for watermarking and identifying AI-generated images, as well as security and office suite AI updates. Google aimed to emphasize its AI plans in response to Microsoft's aggressive AI strategy. The focus on strengthening Google's enterprise cloud service led to the addition of 20 new AI models, bringing the total to 100. The company also discussed the SynthID technology for watermarking AI-generated images invisibly, AI-enhanced office software, and security tools. The TPU v5e chips were introduced ahead of the fifth-generation TPU launch, designed for training large models and efficient content serving.
