Google has unveiled Gemini Pro, a language model for developers, and Google AI Studio, a user-friendly tool for prompt development and integration. Gemini Pro, accessed via the Gemini API, supports 38 languages across 180 countries and is currently free with usage limits. The model features a 32K context window, expandable in future versions. Google AI Studio, complementing Gemini Pro, offers 60 free requests per minute and an API key for developers. Gemini integrates into Google Cloud's vertically optimized AI technology stack, providing AI-optimized infrastructure for businesses. Thomas Kurian, CEO of Google Cloud, highlighted the stack's efficiency in AI training, tuning, and serving. Gemini Ultra, a powerful model for complex tasks, is set to launch in early 2024, and Gemini plans to expand into platforms like Chrome and Firebase. Developers can explore Gemini Pro and Vision for free until general availability, after which charges apply based on usage.
