Union Minister of MSMEs Narayan Rane announced that over 20,000 Zed certificates have been issued under the MSME Sustainable (Zed) Certification scheme as of August. Launched in April last year, the project aims to enhance the competitiveness and productivity of MSMEs by minimizing waste, boosting environmental consciousness, saving energy, and expanding markets. Over 10,000 certifications were completed in less than two months. Based on performance metrics, the scheme classifies certificates into Bronze, Silver, and Gold levels. Recent data shows 70,622 MSMEs have registered, with 22,161 certified (21,799 Bronze, 175 Silver, and 187 Gold). The Quality Council of India (QCI) oversees the Zed Scheme, which promotes 'zero defect-zero effect' manufacturing.
