IBM and Meta have joined forces to launch the AI Alliance, collaborating with over 50 tech companies globally. The initiative aims to create an open community fostering responsible innovation in AI, emphasizing safety, accountability, and scientific rigor. The AI Alliance plans to develop benchmarks, evaluation standards, and resources for responsible AI development, including a catalog of vetted safety, security, and trust tools. It also seeks to boost contributions to the AI hardware accelerator ecosystem. Founding members include AMD, CERN, Cornell University, Dell Technologies, Intel, Linux Foundation, NASA, Oracle, and others. The alliance will host events, encourage open AI development, and explore use cases for responsible AI. The goal is to ensure broad availability and transformational benefits of responsible AI through transparency and open standards.
