A report by Palo Alto Networks highlights India's vulnerability to cyberattacks on its critical infrastructure, public sector, and essential services. It reveals that 67% of government and essential service entities have experienced a surge of over 50% in disruptive attacks. Manufacturing faces the highest risk, with 66% reporting increased threats from unsecured IoT devices. Transport and logistics organizations also face a high risk (83%), while 34% of banking and financial services anticipate disruptions from cloud attacks. The report attributes the rise in cyberattacks to technological advancements, including cloud reliance and ransomware concerns. Indian organizations are adjusting budgets to boost cybersecurity, with 94% regularly assessing OT-related cybersecurity incidents. To combat these threats, strategic investments, Zero Trust architecture adoption, and SOC automation are recommended by Anil Valluri, Managing Director at Palo Alto Networks.
