India is contemplating a requirement for smartphone makers to share source code with the government as part of a security overhaul, facing resistance from major companies like Apple and Samsung. The proposed 83 security standards include mandating alerts for significant software updates and allowing users to uninstall pre-installed apps. IT Secretary S.
