Jio AirFiber and Airtel Xstream AirFiber are set to launch on September 19, competing in the Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) market, providing plug-and-play 5G internet services without traditional routers or fiber cables. This technology is user-friendly and beneficial in areas lacking fiber connectivity, especially in rural India. Airtel offers a six-month Xstream AirFiber plan at Rs 7,733 with a refundable security deposit for the router. Jio's pricing will be revealed on the launch day but is expected to be around Rs 6,000, 20% cheaper. Both services come with Wi-Fi 6 routers, offering advantages like low latency, wider coverage, and high speeds. Speed depends on local 5G coverage, with Jio promising 1Gbps, while Airtel offers up to 100Mbps. Jio claims superiority due to its SA 5G network compared to Airtel's NSA.
