Mark Zuckerberg's Meta working on a new, more advanced AI model to rival OpenAI’s GPT-4

Meta, the parent company of Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, has publicly released its AI model, Llama 2, with 65 billion parameters, positioning it as a "smaller foundational model" for AI research. However, recent reports suggest that CEO Mark Zuckerberg aims to compete with OpenAI by developing a new AI model superior to Llama 2, rivaling GPT-4. This model is designed to match LLM capabilities, including generating advanced text and humanlike expressions. Meta is procuring Nvidia H100 AI training chips to support this endeavor, intending to train the model on its infrastructure instead of Microsoft's Azure cloud. Leaked information suggests that this team is already developing AI tools, such as a chatbot with 30 different personalities for Instagram, possibly launching as "Personas." Zuckerberg is actively engaging in AI discussions and will attend an AI summit alongside tech executives like OpenAI's Sam Altman and Google's Sundar Pichai.
