OpenAI has confirmed it is partnering with Oracle on a monumental $30 billion-a-year cloud agreement, anticipating 4.5 gigawatts (GW) of power across various data centers. The expansion includes increasing the capacity of Oracle’s Abilene, Texas facility from 1.2GW to 2GW and exploring additional sites in states such as Wisconsin and Michigan. OpenAI’s director of physical infrastructure reveals that the company is also planning to construct its own data centers globally, further solidifying its ambitious growth trajectory.
