OpenAI has released ChatGPT Images 2.5 with two new API models, and Adobe has already added them to its Firefly creative AI studio. The models deliver sharper detail, more precise editing and up to 50 percent lower latency than the previous version. GPT-Image-2.5 Flare is the default, while Sunburst is the slower, higher-control option for production work. Adobe describes Firefly as a place that brings leading AI models together with its own tools. The traffic runs both ways: more than 70 Adobe tools are already available inside ChatGPT. OpenAI is also turning prompts into shareable objects. Users can attach the prompt to an image so others can run it with their own photos. Additional features include Sketch for drawing references, templates for posters and merchandise, and comments placed directly on images. OpenAI says more than 3 billion images are created each week across ChatGPT and its image API. The models include C2PA metadata and invisible watermarking.
