Pakistan is allocating 2,000 megawatts of surplus electricity toward powering Bitcoin mining and AI data centres, according to its finance ministry. The Pakistan Crypto Council, a government-backed body, is leading this initiative that aims to monetise surplus electricity, generate high-tech jobs and attract foreign investment. This move represents the first phase of a broader digital infrastructure roll-out.
