SAP held its first Embodied AI Jam last week at the Swiss Smart Factory in Biel, Switzerland. Customers, robot makers, system integrators and SAP experts worked side by side with real robots. Embodied AI means AI agents that act through a physical body. Linked to Joule and the SAP Business AI Platform, the robots gain business context so they can carry out tasks that serve actual process goals. Teams explored inspection drones tied to SAP Asset Performance Management and humanoids supporting SAP Digital Manufacturing. Warehouse automation, asset inspection and material handling were among the scenarios tested. Progress that normally takes weeks of emails and meetings happened in three focused days. Participants left wanting to keep exploring with SAP. From January 2027 SAP Switzerland will join the Swiss Smart Factory, opening the door to more of these events.
