While large corporations lead in name recognition, SMEs are the backbone of economies, making their involvement in decarbonization essential. However, SMEs face challenges such as limited resources, tight budgets, and a steep learning curve. Despite recognizing the importance of net-zero goals, over 60% feel it's an overwhelming challenge due to financial constraints and time limitations. Reporting Scope 3 emissions, affecting 75% of total emissions, intensifies urgency to act, affecting SMEs' importance in supply chains and risking business loss and collaboration opportunities. Climate change impacts are increasing, affecting 90% of surveyed SMEs. To mitigate damage, SMEs can leverage green initiative financing, digital tools, and partnerships.
