Taiwan's National Security Bureau (NSB) has issued a warning regarding Chinese generative AI apps, including Deepseek and Doubao, after inspections uncovered privacy violations across multiple security indicators. All five examined apps showed deficiencies, with Tongyi failing 11 out of 15 indicators. The software reportedly produces biased content aligned with China's political perspectives. The NSB urges citizens to avoid these apps to protect personal data and maintain cybersecurity. Since February 2025, Deepseek has been banned from government devices.
