Tamil Nadu plans big bang in defence, aerospace

In Indian state of Tamil Nadu is focusing on developing the Tamil Nadu Defence Industrial Corridor (TANDIC) to become a key player in the aerospace and defense sectors, with plans for five nodes, testing facilities, export centers, and technology transfer. Under the Tamil Nadu Aerospace and Defence Industrial Policy, the government has initiated the setup of specialized facilities for testing various technologies crucial for defense R&D, positioning the state as a potential aerospace and defense hub. With specific hubs planned in Coimbatore, Hosur, and Trichy, the state aims to leverage its existing manufacturing capabilities and forge partnerships with private industries to foster growth and innovation in the sector. The planned aerospace park in Sulur and the component manufacturing park at Varapatti signify the state's ambitious strides towards becoming a prominent player in the aerospace and defense industries.
