China to build a robust educational foundation for the burgeoning robotics sector, centered on the introduction of undergraduate programs focused on embodied intelligence (EI). This academic restructuring is a direct result of a national strategy to identify and develop urgently needed disciplines, with the overarching goal of supporting domestic technological ambitions. Consequently, several top institutions, including Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Zhejiang University, have received government approval to launch these specialized courses.
