UBTECH Robotics and FAW-Volkswagen have formed a strategic partnership to develop and test embodied-intelligence robots for logistics operations. The companies will also create demonstration scenarios to support the deployment of humanoid robots and related solutions in smart manufacturing. FAW-Volkswagen operates five production bases in Changchun, Chengdu, Foshan, Qingdao and Tianjin and produces 35 models under the Volkswagen, Audi and JETTA brands, with cumulative output exceeding 30 million vehicles. UBTECH’s industrial humanoid platform combines an embodied-intelligence brain, human-inspired motion control, high-performance hardware and swarm intelligence, supported by foundation, world and action models. The partnership targets logistics and manufacturing tasks that require greater flexibility as vehicle configurations become more individualized. UBTECH said its humanoid robot factory, designed for production at the 10,000-unit scale, has begun operations.
