USC President Michael Amiridis expresses excitement about the new addition. Initially serving the main campus area, the robots navigate sidewalks using advanced technology, delivering from 11 dining options via the Grubhub app. Each robot can transport the equivalent of three shopping bags and is equipped with insulation to maintain food temperature. Capable of crossing streets, climbing curbs, and operating in various weather conditions, the robots utilize machine learning and sensors for navigation. A human monitoring team ensures safety and can intervene if necessary.
