The White House has unveiled the designation of 31 technology hubs to enhance American competitiveness in the technology sector. These hubs will have the opportunity to compete for substantial grants ranging from $40 million to $75 million each, as part of President Joe Biden's strategy to bolster technology ecosystems. This initiative is enabled by the CHIPS and Science Act, a significant component of Biden's economic agenda, which aims to enhance semiconductor manufacturing and supply chains in the U.S. The act also authorizes a $10 billion investment in technology hubs across the nation. These hubs will play a crucial role in advancing various technology fields such as quantum computing, artificial intelligence, clean energy, medicine, and biotechnology. They are spread across 32 states, including areas with tribal governments, coal communities, and states with smaller populations.
