Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the G20 Trade and Investment Minister's meeting, highlighting the challenges of cross-border e-commerce and advocating for equitable competition between large and small sellers. He emphasized the need for fair price discovery and consumer grievance mechanisms. Modi praised the 'High-Level Principles for the Digitalization of Trade Documents' and India's Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) initiative. India has expanded digitization and promoted innovation and it has moved away from red tape to the red carpet and liberalized FDI flows, he said, adding, “We are committed to making India the third largest global economy in the next few years.” Modi urged G20 countries to build resilient global value chains and focus on MSMEs for employment and GDP contribution. He proposed the 'Jaipur Initiative' to aid MSMEs' access to market information. He urged collective efforts for a representative and inclusive global trading system.
