Zebra Technologies released new findings from its collaboration with Oxford Economics on modernizing frontline workflows with AI, automation and data. The global study surveyed leaders in retail, transportation and logistics, and manufacturing. Manufacturers that improved supply chain and inventory management saw a potential profit increase of $6.6 million for a typical organization. Modernizing maintenance workflows offered a $6.2 million uplift, while advancing production lines added $3.5 million. In retail, upgrading the point of sale unlocked a potential $4 million in higher profits. In transportation and logistics, better shipping and loading workflows delivered a potential $2.8 million profit rise. Among T&L firms that upgraded picking and packing, 34 percent reported better staff retention and satisfaction, and 54 percent saw faster operations. Fifty-six percent of manufacturers noted productivity gains from modernizing production lines.
